Spicezee BureauMumbai, April 03: After taking endless jibes on news channels for the tacky, twisted presentation of several issues, it seems Amitabh Bachchan has now decided to take matters in his own hands. The actor, who made a blockbuster blog debut sometime back, is now set to take a plunge into news world and will very soon boast of a news channel- India 24/7, owned by the Bachchans.
Well, Big B is surely drawing some big plans. And, why not? Post the astounding success of his blog that can be well judged by the umpteen fans hooked on to it, the actor is now widening his reach.
Confirming the news, a news daily quoted a source as saying, "Amitabh Bachchan is starting a news channel called India 24/7 and the preparations for its launch are going on in full swing.
It is being planned in collaboration with a big corporate house. Of course, right now nobody wants to confirm anything and everything is hush-hush."
According to the buzz doing rounds in filmdom, the eureka moment came while Bachchan was shooting for Ram Gopal Varma`s ‘Rann’.
Story goes that Amitabh, who plays a Harshvardhan Malik, the owner of a TV channel in the film, spoke to Ramu about starting his own news channel during the shoot. Incidentally, the channel that Amitabh owns in the film too is called India 24/7.
Even though Bachchan’s spokesperson denied the news, insiders state that a ‘Big’ news channel is very much on the cards.
