Spicezee BureauMumbai: With the multi-starrer having a Sanjay Dutt-Ajay Devgn combo as one of its strengths,‘All The Best: The Fun Begins’ seems to have put together a decent workable comedy.
Though it may leave you craving for some really funny comedy sequences, as several characters gather in a single location, a series of mistaken identities allows the gags to continue throughout. Ajay (Prem) and Fardeen Khan (Vir) are friends who live in Goa; Vir’s super-rich stepbrother Sanjay Dutt (Dharam) sends him monthly pocket money but he is always too busy to make a visit him for a monthly check.
Vir lies to Dharam about his marriage. One day, Dharam unexpectedly arrives in Goa and mistakes Prem’s wife Jhanvi (Bipasha Basu) for Vir’s wife and Vir’s girlfriend, Vidya, played by Mugda Godse, for Prem’s girlfriend. Amidst all the ambiguity, there’s a villain too, played by Johnny Lever. What follows is serious chaos, which does manage to make you enjoy the jokes, though badly low on IQ.
Well, though this one’s all about PJs, you can’t stop laughing. Perhaps, because being low on IQ
is actually funny. And also because two of the finest actors in Bollywood - Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgn, do manage to tickle your funny bone with their contagious energy and energetic on-screen presence.
As for the performances of other characters in the film, Fardeen and Bipasha pulled off their roles with honesty. On the whole, ‘All The Best’, though not a very intelligent film, can be easily watched for having light fun this weekend.
Rating: 3 cheers!
