Hrithik to play Leonardo’s part in ‘Departed’ remake

Mumbai: Remember the fast-paced Hollywood action thriller ‘Departed’? No need to strain your mind if you haven’t seen it because acclaimed filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj is all set to present its ‘desi’ version.

And the director has got on board none other than Hrithik Roshan to play Leonardo DiCaprio’s part in the Hindi remake of the film.

According to sources, the taskmaster will set the plot in Mumbai. As for the storyline Bhardwaj doesn’t aim to change much. The film will present two individuals - one from the underworld and the other from police department, who will infiltrate each other’s group to find the mole in their gangs.

Confirming the story a daily quoted a source as saying, "Vishal has got Hrithik`s dates from June after the actor finishes shooting for Sanjay Bhansali`s ‘Guzaarish’. So far only he has been cast. He plays Leo`s role and so he will have to hone his martial arts skills and gun-totting abilities by taking special classes from professionals."

The actor is expected to recover from his knee surgery by the time the movie hits floors so that we get some kick ass action sequences from the star.
