Kuala Lumpur: In a bid to promote Indian culture, the Indian High Commission in Malaysia has opened a cultural centre in Kuala Lumpur.
A news website quoted Indian High Commissioner to Malaysia Ashok K Kantha, as saying that the cultural centre, located at Capital Square in Jalan Dang Wangi, would house a multi-purpose hall, library, tourism kiosk and an exhibition gallery.
Qualified teachers from India will offer classes in Kathak dance, yoga and Hindi, he added.
Malaysia’s deputy Foreign Minister A. Kohilan Pillay said the move will provide an opportunity to Malaysians to learn more about the traditions and customs of the South Asian country.
He added that the culture centre would also symbolise the friendly partnership between both countries.
