Most of us do love fanciful romantic tales, don’t we? Robert Schwentke’s ‘The Time Traveler’s Wife’ based on Audrey Niffeneger`s novel by the same name is just what a thorough romantic would want to see. It’s mushy, simple and touches you right there where it should.
This Eric Bana and Rachel McAdams starrer is bound to remind you of ‘The Lake House’, ‘Ghost’ or any such sentimental romance which is purely about the victory of love over anything and everything. This one too is about overcoming a major obstacle for the sake of love - in this case a time-traveling disorder, where Henry (Eric Bana), a Chicago librarian is seen suffers from a genetic condition that causes him to be suddenly transported back and forth in time without warning. Clare (Rachel McAdams) plays the love of his life, who has to bear with all his time traveling woes just because she loves him. They keep meeting at different points in their lives and slowly and gradually develop a love relationship. Their marriage is a tricky one, for Henry keeps disappearing every now and then, at the most crucial points of his life. But Clare stays right there- waiting for his man patiently, showing the height of her love for him.

The film is hugely romantic, emotional and tragic. Bana and MaAdams excel in portraying the lead pair undergoing a tumultuous situation.

Watch it if you want to go on a journey full of emotions and romance.

Rating: Three stars.
