Lakme India Fasion Week` 09 - Day 4
Harsha Mary
Day 4 began with an exclusive display of Levi’s Gen Next collection. The models sashayed the ramp in the skin-fit casual and professional wear. The best cultural mishmash of collection was Ayan and Preetika Sarkar`s ‘Couturewala’ collection titled ‘A Pristine Alive ness’, undoubtedly an ingenious couture. The creation was an amalgamation of Spanish and Indian motif. Most of the display had a touch of the Indian churidars and tops styled with an exquisite Spanish touch.
The intricate embroidery work and the cuts on the soft georgettes, silk and cottons were beautifully displayed on the garbs. The use of vibrant colours further bespoke the look and gave the collection an old-world-charm and a pretty feminine touch too. There was a touch of nostalgia and an old world charm about the collection.
Narendra Kumar’s fashionable display of the Fascist look further rejuvenated the crowd. The masked models ambled the ramp in Narendra’s martial collection highlighting the blaze of autocracy in the Fascist era. The colours were deep and somber with skinny pant and shorts matched with tight-fitting inners and jackets.
The preeminent display of the day was Abdul Halder’s bridal collection. His palette had beautifulk and bright shades of pink, blue, green mauve and violet. The ‘magic’ in his bridal wears was the beautifully planned couture and mix of the shades in his collection. The man who’s known for his wonderful western formal gowns had for the first time tried his luck with the his ethnic collection. And, what better platform could the lad have asked for?
Undoubtedly his debut ethnic collection was very clluring. Halder’s Sherwani’s were all in bright shades embellished with gold pitta, zari and gota work. The saree was well bordered with crystals in the fabrics like dupion, taffeta, georgette, net and velvet. anMoving away from his regular western formal evening gowns, Abdul proved that he is an expert with traditional men`s and women`s ethnic wear too. The starlet of Halder’s show was Bollywood actress, Shweta Bharadwak who donned a golden lehenga with Bollywood star, Shweta Bharadwaj made a show stopping entry in a gold lehenga with a tiny green choli and net sleeves.
A must buy festive collection there!
